Having 25 years of progressive experience, James L. Waddell, CPA, MST began his career at Gursey, Schneider & Co., LLP of Century City, California. GSC&Co. is a high-profile CPA firm that handles many Hollywood celebrities. They have been listed by Accounting Today as a top firm to watch. James has also spent 20 years as an independent CPA specializing in federal and state income taxation, financial reporting, business valuations, forensic analysis, cash flow analysis and audit, review and compilation reporting, and the Research and Development credit are also some examples of his experience.

James is a graduate of Loyola University of Chicago where he received a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Public Accounting in May 1990. He is a Certified Public Accountant licensed to practice in all 50 states. His home state is Ohio, License # CPA.46105. James passed the CPA Exam in November 1995, finishing in the top 10% in the nation. Also a graduate of DePaul University, James received a Master of Science in Taxation degree in February of 1996. DePaul consistently ranks in the top five for graduate schools with tax programs in the United States.

James has reviewed thousands of tax returns with varying degrees of difficulty. He responds to IRS and FTB notices. He performs R&D tax credit and cost segregation studies, writes training manuals, procedures, case studies, questionnaires and templates.
